We recommend that you thaw the meat in the refrigerator on a plate or in a bowl.
90+% of the time our products stay vacuum sealed during thawing. However, our products are kept at negative 10 degrees which can create tiny ice crystals that then puncture the packaging and can cause a leak when thawing. Generally, these tiny pinholes from ice crystals do not let in enough air to even compromise the vacuum seal. The packaging expands and contracts during thawing and can loosen things enough that it creates some leakage. This is normal for frozen meat packaging and should not affect the quality of the product.
